My dreams I do not give up

Ai miei sogni non rinuncio was a cultural and artistic project promoted by Mosaico - Azioni per i Rifugiati, with the support of the Lavazza Foundation and in collaboration with the Orsolina28 Art Foundation.

The project involved artistə refugee and those with migrant backgrounds, offering them the opportunity to express themselves through painting and poetry and to find recognition in the Italian cultural scene. The common thread was the dream, understood as imagination, desire and the possibility of the future.

The activities consisted of several stages: an art competition, the selection of works by a mixed jury, a creative residency at Orsolina28 led by artist Valerie Tameu, and finally a public exhibition organized in the spaces of the Lavazza headquarters, during the International Week of Rights, Environment and Cultures, on the occasion of the World Refugee Day..

Works, stories and visions

The collective and individual works created allowed the public to connect with stories and visions that often remain invisible. The exhibition also included works by René Bokoul, a Congolese artist supported by Mosaico in its early years in Italy and now active internationally.

The project had a twofold impact: for refugee artistə, who were able to grow professionally and gain visibility, and for the citizenry, who were able to discover new forms of expression and encounter through art.
