The World Refugee Day is an event promoted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which takes place every year on June 20, on the occasion of the commemoration for the approval of the convention relating to the status of refugees by the General Assembly of the United Nations on June 20, 1951 in Geneva.

Since 2007 Mosaico organizes and promotes this event in Turin, involving the network of bodies and associations of piedmont area that operate in this field. To this day it is a point of reference, a moment of awareness,information, discussion and dialogue for all those who in various capacities work in this sector, for institutions and citizenship as well as, of course, for all holders of international protection present in the territory. Over time, the organized events have grown in size and relevance, with the involvement of an ever-increasing number of participations, institutional and private social bodies, voluntary associations. n particular, over the years, efforts have been made to promote the growing role of refugees and holders of international protection in the organizing, managing and animating events.

In addition to the Refugee Day, since its foundation, Mosaico organizes and / or co-organizes training events on education for world citizenship aimed at the piedmontese and Turin area, disseminating contents on international migration issues, its causes on power contexts of the countries of the south of the world, also through the involvement of experts and researchers from the academic world.
