P.O.N.T.E. for social counters.

P.O.N.T.E. is a project funded by the Social Inclusion Plan of the City of Turin - Area 4 that strengthens the network of social outreach desks in neighborhoods characterized by social and housing fragility, such as San Salvario and Aurora/Barriera.

The P.O.N.T.E. project – Proximity, Orientation, Networking, Territory and Empowerment stably introduces the presence of social mediators from Mosaico within the social counters of the Cecchi Point and San Salvario Neighborhood Houses..

This integration aims to intercept complex needs related to housing, work, health and regularization paths, offering qualified orientation and targeted accompaniments to territorial services. Front office action (reception and listening) is complemented by back office work (management of requests, network connections), so as to ensure continuity and taking care of the most vulnerable cases.

Another pillar of the project is the collaboration with the Frantz Fanon Association, which ensures multidisciplinary support for social mediation pathways. In particular, Fanon ensures:

  • a monthly supervision to the Mosaico team, with case analysis and methodological reflection;
  • the integration of the ethnopsychiatric model, which allows psychosocial frailties to be read within a framework that takes into account cultural, social and political dimensions;
  • the possibility of initiating paths of psychological support in cases where suffering emerges that requires a clinical level of attention.

Methodological approach

In this way, P.O.N.T.E. combines the outreach approach typical of social mediation with a clinical device of support and supervision, strengthening the quality of intervention and preventing drop-outs and improper referrals. Every year dozens of individuals and families find in the desk a reliable point of access, while the teams involved consolidate professional tools and a shared language for dealing with complex cases.
