With the project L.E.A.D. (Leadership, Empowerment, Advocacy and Data for Inclusion), supported by the Step Up Capacity Fund sponsored by the Dutch Council for Refugees, Mosaico has strengthened its advocacy capacity and invested in a new internal leadership cycle.
The initiative responded to two central needs: first, structuring an advocacy plan that would transform the daily work of social mediation into clear messages and useful data for dialogue with institutions and civil society; and second, fostering generational turnover by training young female mediators and practitioners so that they could take a leadership role in the association.
Project results
The project made it possible to develop a shared advocacy plan with input from international experts and organizations, to improve data collection tools with the support of IRES Piemonte, and to revamp external communication, from the website to the social strategy, with a greater focus on the ethics of storytelling and the centrality of refugee voices. Another important result was the start of a path of transmission of memory and internal skills, giving younger people concrete tools to represent Mosaico in public contexts and at institutional tables.
Thanks to Step Up Capacity Fund, the association now has stronger tools to bring the demands that have emerged from outreach work into decision-making places and can count on a new generation ready to guide its next developments.
