Project “Creating Future – Supporting Refugee Students”

Background and purpose

The Project. Creating Future – Supporting Refugee Students was created in response to the worsening economic and social fragilities that particularly affect student3 refugees, hindering access to higher education and skilled work. In a context where educational inequalities are growing, the project aims to counter the risk of social and academic exclusion by offering concrete tools to complete college and facilitate entry into the labor market.

The overall objective is to promote the socio-educational and professional inclusion of refugee students3 enrolled in universities in Piedmont and Turin, strengthening their skills and fostering personalized accompaniment that meets the real needs of students. The project is implemented with the support of Reale Mutua Foundation, in collaboration with territorial entities.

To whom it is addressed

This call for applications is open to four refugee students or female students, who intend to participate in an orientation, accompaniment and training course aimed at completing their university studies and entering the world of skilled labor.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Holders of international protection in Italy or other EU country;
  • Enrollment in the final year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Italy;
  • Expected graduation by March-April 2026;
  • At least basic knowledge of the Italian language (level B1 or higher);
  • Motivation to pursue personal, academic and professional growth.

What the project offers

Selected candidates will gain access to a comprehensive pathway to completion and entry into the world of work, which includes:

  1. Individualized orientation
    • Definition of personalized training and vocational project;
    • Support from the Mosaico team, with periodic monitoring meetings.


  2. Economic support
    • Reimbursement of expenses for participation in the course.


  3. Job placement training pathway

    • “After graduation: job orientation,” a 5-meeting pathway that includes:
      • Individual profiling;
      • Analysis of the Italian labor market;
      • Active job search and contracts;
      • Soft skills and competencies required by companies;
      • Italian for work (language and safety);
      • Meeting with companies, including Reale Mutua.
    • Intensive course in Italian for the working world.


  4. Supporting networking

    • Connecting with companies, universities, and others in the area;
    • Integration into Mosaico’s refugee student network.

Method of application

To apply, you must submit by May 31, 2025 the following documents in PDF format to studenti@mosaicorefugees.org

  • Updated Curriculum Vitae;
  • Letter of motivation (maximum 1 page), specifying:
    • Current academic pathway;
    • Language of the course of study;
    • Reasons for wanting to participate in the project.

Mode of selection

The selection will consist of three stages:

  • Evaluation of submitted materials: resume and motivation letter;
  • Individual motivational interview (June 2025);
  • Communication of outcomes: by July 2025.
