
Mosaico – Azioni per i Rifugiati, with the support of Fondazione Lavazza, promotes this call for artists for the selection and enhancement of the artistic talent of refugee artistə, for the promotion of creativity as a tool for expression, inclusion and active citizenship.
The call is part of the second edition of the “To My Dreams I Will Not Give Up” project, an integral part of the International Week of Rights, Environment and Cultures, organized by Mosaico on the occasion of World Refugee Day.
1. DESTINATARƏ
The competition is open to artistə who meet the following requirements:
- To be a refugee, asylum seeker, holder or former holder of international protection or other form of protection;
- Be 18 years of age or older on the call deadline date;
- Have artistic skills in the fields of painting or poetry.
2. CATEGORIES AND AWARDS
The competition will select four winnersə, divided into two sections:
- 2 for the Painting section
- 2 for the Poetry section
- The winner(s) will receive:
– A cash prize worth 1,200 euros, earmarked for the purchase of materials, educational paths or the development of artistic projects;
– Participation in an artistic and cultural journey from June 13 to 20, 2026, with travel, board and lodging expenses fully covered.
3. Pathway program
June 13 to 15 | Turin
- Arrival of participants and introductory cognitive meetings with the Mosaico and Lavazza Foundation team.
- First workshop dedicated to initiating the creative process.
June 15 – 17 | Moncalvo
- Art residency at Orsolina28 Art Foundation, led by artist and performer Valerie Tameu. During the days at Orsolina28, the selected artistə will work on a co-creation process aimed at creating a collective work.
June 18 – 20| Turin
- Participation in public events, meetings and networking moments with citizens and the University of Turin, including active participation in World Refugee Day initiatives at the Red Room of the City of Turin, organized by Mosaico.
4. HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Applications should be sent no later than May 15, 2026 to:
mosaico@mosaicorefugees.org, with the subject line: “To My Dreams I Will Not Give Up 2026” application.
Each application should include:
- Completed participation form(ANNEX);
- Copy of a valid ID and/or residence permit;
- Work to be submitted:
– Painting Section: image of work and/or portfolio, technical description;
– Poetry Section: unpublished text in PDF format.
Applicantsə must also be available for an interview (online or in-person) between May 20 and 28, 2026, as well as guarantee to be present in Turin from June 13 to 20, 2026.
4. EVALUATION
The works will be selected by a jury composed of artistə, cultural professionalsə and representatives of the Lavazza Foundation, whose commitment to the promotion of talent and artistic inclusion is an essential element of the project.
The evaluation process will be transparent and based on criteria of originality, expressive power and relevance of the artistic message.
